IBM for polish science
IBM has signed an agreement with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling in Warsaw (ICM). Thanks to the agreement new computational machines, purchased within POWIEW project, will be available.

POWIEW project (Program for Computations of Great Challenges of Science and Technology) was created with a view to share new computing architectures in the Polish High Performance Computing centers. These architectures allow to conduct tests that require the processing of computations of the scale previously reserved for the few foreign centers.

The project’s research is conducted in collaboration with academic computing centers in Poznan (PSNC) and Krakow (CYFRONET). Due to new agreement with IBM, POWIEW project was enriched with computers Blue Gene / P. This year, computers with Power 7 processors will be available for the scientists.
