Videoconferencing services in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education
On January 18, 2013 the trial videoconference was held between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and MAN ( Metropolitan Academic Networks) centers in Gdansk, Gliwice, Poznan, Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw and Lodz.
The aim of the experiment was to show the possibilities of using the PIONIER videoconferencing system (built in PLATON project) to the members of the Specialist Group for IT Infrastructure (ZII), who sat in the Ministry, as well as to prepare for the possible organization of the remote meetings of this team.

The tests turned out to be very successful. The videoconferencing system specialists, gathered in different MAN centers, answered a series of questions asked by members of the ZII and explained the technical issues e.g. how to join, record or playback the particular videoconference.

The demonstration proved the possibility to organize the PLATON videoconferencing system between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and other remote locations for such meetings of expert groups in future.
